Our client is passionate about improving communication, health and wellbeing for both children and adults and offer a range of therapy assisted programs from independent living skills, arts and Crafts to adventure excursions at Morton Island, Fraser Island and treetop challenges to name just a few. Therapy assisted programs are available within a home, office, or community setting. With 5 Centres located across the Sunshine Coast, and Fraser Coast no two days will ever be the same.
Requirements
To be considered for the position you will have the following:
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years paid experience as a speech pathologist.
- Practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) or ability to obtain
- Current First Aid certificate and CPR or willing to obtain
- Current driver’s licence
- Current and clear National Police Check certificate
About the role
The successful applicant will perform the following duties:
- Apply a high level of professional judgement and knowledge to provide a wide range of speech and language supports to adolescents and adults with a variety of needs;
- Assess the communication and mealtime management abilities of the client utilising a range of assessment techniques and tools;
- Design intervention plans that are holistic, client-centred, and outcome-driven;
- Provide support to and assisting clients, carers, and families with the implementation of intervention plans and programs;
- Develop care plans and writing comprehensive reports based on advanced clinical understanding, application of various clinical assessments, and implementation of appropriate interventions to address prioritised needs;
- Liaise with other health professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the client;
- Educate family, carers, teachers etc on strategies to improve client’s development and independence.
