About the role  
The Workplace Trainer is responsible for delivering MACLearning training programs and mentorship to ensure the assessment team and employees are skilled in providing high-quality care plans and client care maintaining compliance with Aged Care industry standards.
  
Skills and experience 

  • Conduct and facilitate training sessions on care procedures, safety protocols, and compliance with industry standards
  • Plan and deliver training with focus on:
    • o Induction
    • o Mandatory Training
    • o Role/Site Specific Training and
    • o Client Specific Training
  • Apply competency-based assessment tools and resources (digital and physical)
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through feedback and consultation with stakeholders
  • Support and resource activities relating to the learning and development functions, where required
  • Provide input into the co-design and development of digital solutions for service delivery and quality client outcomes
  • Evaluate staff competency in providing aged care and disability services, identifying areas for improvement
  • Create and update training resources tailored to the needs of caregivers and support staff
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance employee performance and skill development
  • Monitor and ensure that all staff adhere to regulatory requirements and best practices in care delivery
  • Measure the impact of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance improvements, making adjustments as needed
  • Maintain training excellence providing client centred assessments which is inclusive, ensuring equitable access for clients from diverse backgrounds and prioritising a dignified, respectful support process
  • Understand the needs of elderly clients assessing each individual with sensitivity, providing culturally safe and trauma informed-care
  • Adhere to policy and procedures, best practice and clinical governance protocols aligned with Aged Care Assessment Quality Framework
  • Support the Aged Care Assessor Leader ensuring the service is sustaining performance improvement activities including participating in clinical audits
  • Provide feedback to the business for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ability to manage your time effectively in an autonomous working environment 

  
Requirements

  • Current experience as an Aged Care Assessor (highly desirable)
  • Current Cert IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or equivalent or Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Education
  • Minimum 1 year in design and deliver training
  • Proven learning and development experience within a clinical or practice setting within the Health, Aged Care, Disability or Community Sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning and assessment principles and experience in providing training to a clinical and nonclinical workforce
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide training and implement a competency-based learning and assessment framework
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, written, reporting, and evaluation knowledge and skills.
  • Completed Assessor Goal Training in MAClearning
  • Practical knowledge of care practices, compliance, and sector-specific regulations
  • A high level of communication skills
  • Familiarity with relevant aged care and disability legislation and safety protocols
  • Advanced communication and writing skills including writing student reports and education project reports
  • Advanced computer skills in use of Microsoft products (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel)
